Nobody should have to do it alone

A non-denominational Christian charity advancing wellbeing and preventing social isolation — for students, for older Australians, and for the carers who serve them.

Everyone is welcome.

What we run

Our programs

Aged care

Aged Care Staffing

We introduce values-aligned carers to providers — a recruitment service, never a labour hire agency, and never with candidate fees.

Aged care

Thrive In Care

Twelve months of coaching and mentoring for nursing and personal care staff through their first year on the floor.

Volunteering

Generations Connect

Trained student volunteers visit residents each week for life-story conversations, and every resident receives a keepsake booklet.

Students

Student Services

Chaplaincy, coaching, goal-setting workshops, prayer groups, leadership retreats and scholarships.

Free tool

Interview Practice Studio

Rehearse an aged care job interview out loud and get written coaching feedback straight afterwards.

For everyone

Daily Prayer

A short prayer for each day. Read the Bible online alongside it, whenever you need to.

Our mission

A community shed

Our mission is to operate as a ‘community shed’ that facilitates a range of activities for members, with the dominant purpose of advancing wellbeing and preventing or relieving social isolation.

We are not a church, but we collaborate with Christians and non-Christians alike through prayer, events, fundraising and volunteering — alongside individuals, organisations and governments.

“Pastoral care is an ancient model of emotional, social and spiritual support found in every culture and tradition — inclusive of religious and non-religious forms alike.”

Aged care pathway

Train, place, stay

Recruitment gets people through the door. Mentoring is what makes them stay. Our aged care work runs as one continuous pathway rather than three separate services.

1

Train

The Chancellor Institute short course builds cultural confidence and sector knowledge before day one.

Preparing for Aged Care Jobs

2

Place

Providers employ graduates directly, or find values-aligned candidates through Aged Care Staffing.

Aged Care Staffing

3

Stay

Thrive in Care mentors each new worker through the make-or-break first year of employment.
